v2 is just like v1, except v2 can add more infomations (comment, copyright, URL ect....) and i believe v2 can also support muti-bit charaters (kanji, ect..)

you can write both tags on a MP3, when u have v1 enabled, you are lookin at v1 tag. if you have both v2 and v1 enabled, it will show v2 instead ov v1

IMO you should use v2 because it seems to be backwards compatible, if you know what I mean.

That's no tag. That's the filename.

Download an mp3 tag editor program.
Go to download.com and search for one. There are plenty of them for free.

That way you can tag and re-tag your mp3's much more easily.

I don't know if you know this already, but to be sure;

right click on the file and click on properties.

you'll see this:
attachment.php

Only a bit better quality.

The middle tab where it says ID tag you'll probably don't see. That's from a prgram i've got running.

(If anyone wonders, this is the quality of mp3's you get from legal downloads from amazon. Nicely encoded with Xing, 128kbps

)

Sorry about the bad quality of the pics.

TagScanner is a very good program for tagging mp3's. It's at download.com

take my word on this,

the best tagger is MP3 Tag/Studio

http://www.magnusbrading.com/mp3ts/

i tried over 50 shareware programs awhile back before finding this one. very very fast for batch taging, and flexible to read filename and make tags off that., etc

This is a quick hack'n'slash (more like copy&paste) of a previous post of mine about the "issue"...everyone seems to have their favorite apps, but my personal favorite at this time is the one that is linked from Ephpod's website...

Here's a pic of my favorite ID3 tagger:
MP3ext34.png

^ German programmers rule
biggrin.gif

so anyhow now I hope I grabbed your interest ... the link to the official webpage is MP3ext and the instructions on use are HERE

In short your most favorite thing should be the "<>" button because if you click it whatever's typed will be applied to all mp3s selected.

Now, I admit I never read the instructions and I highly believe you won't have to either ... it just felt so right using it and I just assumed the button's do what they did and I happened to assume right.

Hope this helps...
