Ok first off this dealer is selling a benz slr..lol
the g.m. which I talked to earlier today filmed a video of him and a friend beating on the car..then posts the video on the net..lol
mind you this car is $600,000+ and only has 57miles on it..so either know its made to do this kind of driving, would or should he have done this.

I mean If I was interested in this car I wouldnt want to see the dealer driving so carelessly and hard when its really unbroken in..

also with all this in mind look how the dealer or what the dealer does to sell this car..

its all kind of cheap to me..and at that price I wouldnt aexpect cheap.

am I over reacting?

thoughts?

the add

the video

See, by your description I was expecting that they'd be doing sharp turns or jumping over $#!t or something...that didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary beyond the fact that they were probably breaking a couple speeding laws. Maybe not a very intelligent sales attempt, but nothing blatantly bad as far as I can tell. But isn't the point with these cars to be able to use them that way sometimes?

And as for the rest of their marketing plan...do I really need to say "sex sells"?

edit: and I wouldn't call those "side streets" -- maybe not highway, but not side streets either.

They were'nt doing anything so bad. That car is obviously quick but the guy in the E55 gave them too much of a lead.

Oh great, I just noticed the address of the place and saw the video which is pretty close to where I live, hell, where they made the U-turn on the right is a little diner place that I went to grab some dinner tonight with a friend. Never saw any too exotic cars at that place when I drive by, but obviously they are usually closed when I do go by and I have never seen anything interesting race down that street before where it actually is a pretty straight road for a good few miles. The speed limit on that street (La Palma) is 40 btw (one of the main roads here three lanes in each direction), though comparably to what goes on in the streets here in the OC/LA area, that was not really too big a deal.

Nor would I want people sitting/heavily leaning against my carbon fiber/composite honeycomb sandwich hood, regardless of how scantily clad or big busted they are!

The stuff they were doing wasnt really bad, just a couple of straight line accelerations on a relatively smooth road.

Cars of that type have already made a few pulls on the dyno before they get to the showroom floor - that is probably harder on the engine than the driving shown. That said, the new owner will probably not appreciate it if the driver or the rider shown is as funky as some of those who Tuberoller complains of.

And the dealer needs to have made a few passes anyway, for his ego, and to be able to accurately represent the car to his best customers...c'mon, wouldn't you just have to take a spin in one - especially if you only sold two or three a year? The dealer himself probably can't afford to have one without cramping his other interests.

Yeah, the dealer obviously doesn't really care about being reckless.

That was pretty cool, though. Car's got a lot of acceleration, and the interior looks pretty neat, too. I like the ingnition switch, in the stick.

As for the pics on ebay, is that lady included? Sure, she's nice to look at but really distracts from the car. How am I supposed to see a full high-rez view of the car with a couple big knockers sticking into the camera view? "Sex sells", eh? That's pretty stupid, and I do not approve in the least.

They have hi-res boobs there? Where?

The car is obviously fast, but I dislike design so much that I would chose the girl over the car any day...

PS back to the original topic, I don't care if the seller exceeds speed limits (as long as he doesn't kill someone else) because if he does wreck a car it's his fault, no one forces you to buy a wreck, however I don't think it's healthy to race a new unbroken engine like this...

i'm pretty sure a half million dollar car like that, doesn't leave mercedes un -meticulously broken in. It's the least they can do to ensure the car won't prematurely fall apart.

With power like that, have fun with that clutch.
