Hello,
I got into tube sound and the joy of tube rolling with the xduoo ta20. I mainly drive planars with it like the Argons, t60rp or Ether CX.

Now im looking for an upgrade and looking for some suggestions. I had an eye on the schiit lyr3 but I'm not sure it's actually an upgrade.

Thanks in advance.

Check the tube amp threads in the fullsize amp subsection. Personally I would avoid the Lyr for several reasons.

I just got my Bottlehead S.E.X. build done and using it with Audeze LCD-2.2, its a really good combo.

Pics or it didn't happen

How's the Cavalli Liquid Platinum for planars? The amount of power it supplies seems to be tailor-made for planars.

I really want to know the answer to this question as well. I'm currently using an xDuoo TA-20. But I want a balanced hybrid tube Amp with some extra power.

Well, after doing a little digging, I came upon this post (Topping D90 -> Liquid Platinum -> Hifiman Arya): https://www.head-fi.org/threads/mon...platinum-by-alex-cavalli.876406/post-15759465

On the other hand, I read a mixed reaction to the LP with one of my other favorite planars (HE-500) on another site (of which cannot be named or linked here).

Your LCD-X should be easy to drive. I don't know about your LCD-2CB. IIRC, Mr. Cavalli posted on (Mass)Drop that he listened to his LCD-2 on the CTH (1W at 50ohms load) and it sounded just fine on that amp. I also have a CTH (recent purchase) and I agree with Mr. Cavalli that my LCD-2's sound fine on it. However, the HE-500 is just okay on the CTH, which made me curious about the LP (especially at its current $484 sales price).
