Hi there, wondering if anyone has experienced any of these issues and/or can help:

- If I have used the TT2 for anything in Windows, Roon is unable to take control of the amp via the ASIO driver (failed to initialize device error). The only workaround is to use the WASAPI driver first, then the ASIO magically works after.

- The second problem is more OS based and not a Roon issue. Many times a day, the DAC will play windows sounds at completely the wrong pitch (either too high or too low), and sound distorted - crackling/popping/skipping. I can resolve this by manually changing the sample rate in Windows which then (sort of) resolves the issue. I say sort of because sometimes I still hear a pop in windows and application sounds about 15% of the time for any new sound being played. Only way to resolve this seems to be a restart of the DAC and the PC.

Given I've reached out to Chord directly and they totally ignored my first email, then I got them to respond to the second one with a bit of a trojan horse easier to answer question, It seems they have no intention to update their 2017 driver, which leaves me feeling pretty gutted to be honest, because other than the piss poor user experience, once the music works it sounds astonishing.

Didn't expect such poor windows drivers coming from the RME ADI-2 DAC which had new drivers frequently and even had functionality to have WASAPI windows sounds play in windows while Roon had the ASIO exclusivity.

Connected via a PCI-e Matrix Element H card, but have tried connecting directly to the motherboard and the same issues persist. I've also tried various combinations of selecting/deselecting exclusive mode in windows, enabling only specific sample rates etc etc to no avail.

I know your post is a little old but I am going to respond anyway. The usb driver for chord is not even decent on Windows 10. Don´t expect them to be better on Windows 11.

To fix my own problem Im buying a ddc with better driver(hopefully) and skipping the poorly designed USB on TT2.

Sidenote: Also if you are like me and don´t want the annoying Windows 11 popup in updates. Target the build and os( Windows 10 and 21H2) option i gpedit.

Anybody with the same problem remind me to come back to this thread I will give my impression of the new DDC which will be matrix spdif2 using optical glass Wireworld or Lifatech

Cheers. Got so put out by everything I sold the TT2 in the end. Pathetic software and a real lack of willingness to do anything by Chord said all I needed to hear. Won’t be buying their products again.

I think they only included the usb/driver to make sells. Not saying the optical is the same worse thing, but Im not gonna buy anything from them unless they fix the driver.....Im going for audio-gd dac next time.

Im not kidding. The TT2 USB/driver is so bad for gaming I don´t. People on the main thread said there was not problem and I blindly believed it.

Don´t buy TT2 unless you go optical. TT2 will be my last Chord experience ever! I payed full price/amount for a product that aint even decent in USB mode.

DONT BUY TT2 for gaming, I don´t care what anybody is saying. Its craaaap!

Rocket Leauge
Need 4 Speed Heat
Star Wars Fallen Order
Ori the will of the wisp

every game it sound like it can not access the USB driver. I hope the latency on optical aint that craap.

When that has been said. TT2 sound fabulous in every music player I have tested.

I added the Chord TT2 to my DI20HE with COAX/SPDIF as a workaround for the flaws TT2 has regarding USB driver and, but not least, playing audio in warmup state will distort the left channel insanely.

DI20HE did not only change and better the experience en every aspect, it actually also added "extra" clarity, the crystal like high frequencies I use to love about the RME is almost there in the TT2. My Arya has definitely changed, amazingly.
