Hi there, wondering if anyone has experienced any of these issues and/or can help:
- If I have used the TT2 for anything in Windows, Roon is unable to take control of the amp via the ASIO driver (failed to initialize device error). The only workaround is to use the WASAPI driver first, then the ASIO magically works after.
- The second problem is more OS based and not a Roon issue. Many times a day, the DAC will play windows sounds at completely the wrong pitch (either too high or too low), and sound distorted - crackling/popping/skipping. I can resolve this by manually changing the sample rate in Windows which then (sort of) resolves the issue. I say sort of because sometimes I still hear a pop in windows and application sounds about 15% of the time for any new sound being played. Only way to resolve this seems to be a restart of the DAC and the PC.
Given I've reached out to Chord directly and they totally ignored my first email, then I got them to respond to the second one with a bit of a trojan horse easier to answer question, It seems they have no intention to update their 2017 driver, which leaves me feeling pretty gutted to be honest, because other than the piss poor user experience, once the music works it sounds astonishing.
Didn't expect such poor windows drivers coming from the RME ADI-2 DAC which had new drivers frequently and even had functionality to have WASAPI windows sounds play in windows while Roon had the ASIO exclusivity.
Connected via a PCI-e Matrix Element H card, but have tried connecting directly to the motherboard and the same issues persist. I've also tried various combinations of selecting/deselecting exclusive mode in windows, enabling only specific sample rates etc etc to no avail.
