Hi, everyone!

As mentioned in the title of the thread, I'm looking to pick up my first pair of open back headphones. I listen to a lot of dance music - in order: Drum n Bass, Electro, Techno, House. These genres are about 85% of my total music intake. Source will be a Fiio M17. Tunes are almost 100% flacs (I listen to the tunes I deejay with, purchased from BandCamp).

Per my signature, I'm very much into the Ultrasound sound and of my three pairs, I rank them thusly: Signature Pro, Signature DJ, Pro900i.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated, trying to keep the spend at $500 or less. Thanks, all!

If you like nice bass, I would try the Fostex TR line and Meze 99 series. If you like more detailed highs, a Hifiman XS or DT1990. If you want to save some cash, a Sundara new is $300. There are lots of good options sub $500.

I have the Hifiman Ananda and He4xx and both are fun for techno. They're fast and to try planars the HE4xx is the value for money winner. Got those for $85 on eBay in excellent condition and keep them as a spare/loaner since the Ananda isn't going anywhere.

@dunring and @msing539

I was kind of thinking to check out planars next, so thanks for your HiFiMan suggestions!
