Seriously, you can't get much more patronizing than that. It's not even profanity in today's choice of words. Censoring D A M N is bordering on ridiculous. Well, censorship in any kind/way is awkward, but censoring words that are as... mild as that is a bit over the top in my opinion. Now don't give me the "family friendly" speech, I know where I am - and there still is no excuse to censor a perfectly normal colloquial expression like that. Thanks for your attention.

probably to not be caught by content rating systems... soon they'll be censoring damn, BS, FU, and other little joys :D


Yes, the filter is there for content rating systems.

If content rating systems start picking up on abbreviations or new slang, those will be added to the filter.

Unfortunately, many people access Head-Fi behind these sorts of things.

The goal is to make Head-Fi accessible to as many people as possible. That is more important than a handful of words some people find offensive.
