For several years I have been I have been running a 2.1 system from my M-Audio Revo 7.1 using a B&K Reference 4420 amplifier, Von Schweikert VR1 monitors and a Dayton Titanic subwoofer. Though I game occasionally, sound quality is much more important to me that gaming performance.

Lately I have been eyeing the HT Omega Claro or Claro+ and thinking about replacing my old Revo 7.1. Would the Claro or Claro+ with their CMI8788 the processor and AK4396VF DAC's the offer any improvement in sound quality over the older M-Audio Revo with its Envy 24HT processor and AK4381 DAC's?

Unfortunately, I don't have usable access to a PCI express slot on my motherboard. Additionally, I use nearfield monitors and not headphones due to problems with tinnitus. When comparing the Claro+ to the Asus D2, the Claro+ appeared to have fewer problems and better customer reviews than the D2. Any thoughts?
