I was raised on the music of the 50's especially Buddy Holly. I often wonder how/if music would be different today had the plane not crashed. It has been almost 50 years, and even young people today recognize much of Buddy's work, and everyone knows Ritchie Valens or at least they know LaBomba! Buddy Holly is even featured on the Juno soundtrack. Looking at the the way their contemporaries (Cash, Elvis) shaped music, I can't help but think they would have had an impact.
