Hey guys,
I hadn't considered or planned this out, but it sort of happened. Basiclly i'm building a second system and it turns out I needed a second source and pair of cans. (home, college).

Anyways, my home rig will be a nad 541 cd player, emmeline hr2, voodoo reference copper interconnects. My cans are sony cd 3000. I've read various descriptions of the nad being bright, and considered this a problem... I do think the copper rca's will help tame that, and the emmeline as well. What do you guys think???
My second system is going to be just my benchmark dac1,audiophile 2496, and a pair of at w1000s.
I considered getting a meta 42 or something to pair with the nad, and just using the ats with the nad, but its almost as if im wasting my benchmarks amp. This is sort of a catch22, because i love the current sound that setup gives. (benchmark> emmeline> cd3000).

What to do?

Emmeline might do the job taming brightness. For the little I heard the combo though, emmeline and CD3000 (on Sony NS500v) sounded a little thick. I am sure others will disagree.

are there any mods available for this player at all? I've been trying to research. Also, how is it, just as a transport? If i decide to use it with my dac, will it sound as good as my audiophile 2496's digital out??

This is a little off topic, but www.audioadvisor.com has a cdp from CEC for 500.00 right now that looks very interesting. The players and transports I've had a chance to hear buy them in the past have all been very good.
