Hello!
After seeing this question many times, I thought I should make an official thread for it. Please keep it sticky, many newcomers need it and it took me two years of playing with different tools before coming to this solution.
Since I was asked about this recently, I thought I would give a helping hand
The problem / Question.
The DAP is too slow, how to fix?
How to change filename to tags?
How to change tags to filenames?
How to batch resize cover art for importing a library to a DAP without manually converting every image file?
How to manipulate tag files?
How to strip embedded art and transform it to physical image file within a folder?
ETC.
Tools you will need: MP3Tag, XnView / XnConvert, Foobar2000. All of those are free and I recommend them although I am not a part of their development.
How to extract the cover art if it is embedded:
Open MP3Tag

This must be done once, per album , if the album is inside a folder.
To remove the embedded art, just click remove instead of extract
How to convert tags to a file name
Mp3Tag

You can play with the string file format, but if you copy those exact settings, it will transform the file tags to file name in a tidy file naming format.
The reverse process is achieved by clicking filename -> tags.
How to batch resize cover art that's included within a music library and if those are photo files inside each album folder. This provides better speeds for most DAPs.
(For a hassle free experience, please copy every single setting for the music that will be transferred to DAP. Play with the settings if you understand them and know what you're doing. Do not do this to your original library if you want to keep files at full resolution)
