How to keep over the ear headphones clean ?

not sure if this is a serious question but I'll try to answer as serious as possible:

a combination of these measures should yield positive results:
- putting the headphones in a box or under a cover when not using
- vacuum and clean as often as possible
- don't let the cats into the room you use your headphones in
- send the cats outside (if possible)
- if all fails then dedusting - for example with a piece of cotton - might be your only option

Thanks so a powerful vacuum cleaner won't hurt over the ear headphones ?

by vacuum cleaning I meant cleaning the floor - not the headphones :)
make sure there is as little dust around the house/room - like this there will also be less dust on your headphones (and everything else)

to clean the headphones I use a piece of cotton - I personally would't use a vacuum cleaner on them

Thanks sorry for the misunderstanding.

So with the piece of cotton should it be wet or anything?

Assuming your pads are velour, since your issue is with cat hair, I would remove the pads and either use one of those smaller vacuum to remove the hair or just wash them every once in a while.

I usually use a slightly moist cotton towel if it really needs dedusting and for the pads those sticky rollers you use for removing fluff from your clothes. Works really well.
Generally I guess best is just keeping them away from dust, thats why I keep headphones like my HE1000 in a box whenever I don't use it.
