I have a Marantz pm7001 integrated amp which doesn't have a dedicated subwoofer connection.

Anybody have any advice on how to hook one up? I don't have the sub yet but am contemplating buying some bookshelves and a sub.

Thanks!

The sub will have speaker level inputs. Run speaker wires from the R/L out on the amp to the speaker level inputs on the sub. Run the speaker outs on the sub to your bookshelves.

Not all subs have speaker level inputs. A stereo line level output from the Marantz into the sub using its crossover should work in such a case.

Simply connect from your integrated's pre-out to the subwoofer's in. I'm using an integrated with an Outlaw sub with this config and it works great. THis particular subwoofer has only a single rca input, so I just use a single interconnect (pre-out right/red) to the sub's input - the right channel of the rca carries all the LF info, no need for the left.
