I have been using USB on my DAC sucessfully with ASIO4ALL and Foobar off my Notebook. How can I connect via the S/PIDF port of my notebook and still use ASIO4ALL and Foobar?

Most likely you will need a toslink with on one side a minijack and on the other side the common optical connector.

Here is a link.

Thanks for the tip. How would I get ASIO4ALL and Foobar set up to bypass the K-Mixer?

Thanks!

The ASIO4ALL and Foobar settings match mine, I have set up the USB side ok. I assume if I wanted to use the S/PIDF from ny Realtek card I would enable this device iun ASIO4ALL, attach the COAX cable (3.5mm mini jack to RCA to my DAC. I should end up with a S/PIDF signal to my outboard DAC.

Thanks again.

You are assuming right. The MD-10 can be connected with USB and the Lite AH can be connected with an optical. There is hardly any point to go to coax from optical since you are already have got the quality of optical and it's disadvantages. The main disadvantage is that optical cables are likely to cause jitter where coax and USB do not. I am using an optical for my (active) speakers and this works well enough for me.
