I use my KSC-35s as primary cans for my laptop, as they are the only cans to produce a good sound with the "great" laptop out.
However, they hurt my ears after a while to the extent that I just want to rip them off and exchange them for a 10$ headset I have lying next to me...

Any ideas on how to make the clip-on mechanism more ear-friendly? Apply foam? Bend it so the pressure isn't that great anymore? Something? It can't go on like this...

from my personal experience, your head is either shaped in such a way that clip on doesn't hurt you, or it does... I myself is the later one, that's why I never get clip on. Trade it in for a protapro

yes, you can fix the ksc-35 to more comfortable.

the earclips will snap off. remove them and note which driver is right and left with a bit of tape.

hold the clip under very hot running water, so you can bend then so they put less pressure on your ears. you can also raise or lower the position of the drivers, even change the angle. be careful not to snap them.

once they are in the shape you want, hold the clip and put under cold running water to freeze it.

place the clips on the counter and note if they are even with each other.

dry them off, and place back on the drivers. some more adjustment may be needed.

to make then even more comfy, buy a "croakies" foam sunglasses strap. cut off the foam tubes that attach to the glasses and slip them over the clips.

good luck.

I've heard you can wear the KSC-35's "upside down". To do this, you must switch left for right, right for left. Its reverse stereo, but it might not make big difference.
