Hi!

I've found them in one shop in Prague, Czech Republic. They are 1500Kc, that's about 50$. Please tell me what's the usual street price in other countries, the lower the better.

I'm thinking of getting them as HD-600 backup phones, especially when they're cheaper than KSC-35 and Porta Pro here.

And one more question: How good they are? (only people who auditioned them for a longer time than 5 minutes, please).

Thanx

HI: I paid 110.00 for them. They need good power to sound at thier max but when there are very nice cans. The sound stage is great and the cans just sound very good for thier price that I paid. Their not as good as the 580s but are fun cans very musical and you dont need to concentrate on the music but just enjoy it. When I use my 580s I find myself concentrating on the music. I think that you would like the 890s. You have the 600 so you must have power amp to use on the 890s .

here in India the 890s sell for about USD 52.
During my last visit to singapore I found these cans for ~ USD 35.

I have listened to them only once for 15 mins so I cant say much about the sound.

wouldnt pay 100 bucks for them though.

just my thoughts

I think it's cheaper in asia as it's made in China, cheaper freight I guess.

Also, please remember that every country has different pricing for all kinds of goods. I have bought some computer stuff from the US as it's cheaper there.

i listened to the 890s in less than idea condition and for a short period. I first impression was that they were a very good value for $ 35-50 phone. Probabaly hard to beat in that price range (havent listened to the ksc-35s though)
The most impressive thing about these cans was their HUGE soundstage.

But at close to $100 they face a strong competition from grado sr-80s, etys and these days you can get a Senn 580 also for that price. someone with longer experience with these phones would be better able to comment on how these compare with other cans.

cheers
