Hey there, I'm looking for a pair of quality bass-ish headphones at around 100-150€, and most of the DT series fairly fit there. Not the DT880 tho, bude from what I've read in all the reviews, the DT770 or the DT990 could fit my needs fairly well. They will be driven by an old but trusty 90's Pioneer receiver, DAC is onboard on the PC motherboard (fairly good signal to noise ratio), later maybe some head-amp might come in place if neccesary. I'll be listening to many different genres, but overall I love bass. Not that horrible muddy kind of bass, but the kind you can mostly just feel. Not saying that all I'll be listening to is bass, mids and trebbles shouldn't be pushed aside either, but I like more bassier-fun headphones, not those analytical ones.
Genre wise, from dubstep, dnb, all kind of electro, through rock, metal, prog-rock, vocals, to even classical and some pop.
If you have any other headphones recommendation that would fit me better than these DT's, just let it out.
Now back to the DT's, which of these DT's would fit me best? I honestly can't tell from different reviews, because what one describes as a DT770, another reviewer describes as a DT990. That seems to me like if there isn't that much difference between them, so I can't really go wrong with any of them... at least I hope so.
Regarding the DT990's my only option is the Pro (250ohm, it's way sexier than the new Edition ones anyway), while all Ohm versions of the DT770 cost the same.
And now let's get back to the title question - how open the DT990's are? I mean, I don't care if sound get's out of the headphones, but oh boy I will care if some noise gets in while listening to some masterpiece. Can anyone from experience tell me how much do they isolate outter noise?
Thanks in advance
