Are you confident its no longer under warranty? My buddy had his Clear driver die, and was told that all Clears were still under warranty as the model was less than 3 years old. This was about 4 months ago.
Odd thing about Focal's warranty is my buddy sent his in for repair, and it sat in NY for several weeks until an entire palate was filled up with repairs before it was finally sent to Canada for repair. All told he was w/o his Clears for about 8 weeks.
Yeah, warranties, and customer service is often overlooked when reading or watching reviews of gear, but it usually ends up being a big part of the equation, sooner, or later.
I have owned headphones in the past that were made by companies that had less than stellar QC and customer service. Those headphones eventually were sold off as I do not have patience for such shenanigans.
