How much do you weight the power cord from outlet?

Right now I'm experiencing the criticial issue about power cord. I'm using Purist Anniversary for to amp cord right from the wattgate silver outlet because this setting doesn't sound good enough for me.

wattgate (silver) -> virtual dynamics power one -> wattgate (gold) -> purist anniversary -> amp

The dynamic is muddled down a bit compared to direct connect to the wall. Right now I'm considering buying virtual dynamics master 3.0 just to use it from the outlet. However, I found most people use just budget cord from outlet rather than taking care of it seriously as cord to machine. To tell you the truth, I'm lost now.

Yes, most people just plug it in an enjoy the music

It seems you are worrying too much on getting the perfect sound and it is interfering with your goal of musical enjoyment. Listen to the music not the equipment.

What the? Are you saying you have both the Purist power cord AND VD cord hooked up in series somehow to the amp??

Power cord should be foremost on your upgrade list ahead of all interconnects and spkr/headphone cable. Power is 50% of sound, and garbage in, garbage out

well, i have

and considering if i should by master 3.0 if it sounds a lot better than direct connect.

he has some sort of weird power chain going on and he's wondering if simplifying it to one cable is better... kinda silly having ICs + power cables/other power related things greater in value in combination than the rest of the set up.

Does anyone have any actual scientific evidence that one of these special ac cables has anything on a regular cable? Or just anecdotal evidence?

I changed my mind. It seems the combination gives me better tone-balance. It looks like I like the mix of gold and silver wattgate outlet. However, the motion and details seems to be dropped by little. I wonder if changing ac cord from outlet to be the same level of anniversary will help.

P.S. I don't care if you guys will have the belief in ac cord and ic cables. I asked because I believe that among you guys, there should be some people who play hi-fi tweaking seriously like me. I can say with confidence that 1600$ amp + 2400$ cables gives better sound than 3000$ amp + 400$ cables in terms of hi-fi sound.

I totally believe in cables/ics. But you'd be like Patrick82 if you believe that cables outweigh the headphones/amp/source side of the equation. At best spend equal, but more than? That's where I draw the line.

You were the one asking if your complex power chain is worse off than a single solid cord... isn't that clear evidence that maybe there's too much placed in that area?

outweigh? not at all. my amp is 1600$ and i spent about 2000$ for cables because whenever i can find better amps and headphones, i still can use those cables after upgrade.

about my first post, i tested that when i was sick and realized it again after waking up. Using cables around the same price of amps isn't crazy. i can't go back to 1/4 price of those cables. And using combination isn't weird idea for home hi-fi because many people use the similar tweaks like mine in home system.

What do you think happens in the power supply of your amp? In what ways is your incoming power garbage? How in the world can a voodoo cable connecting your power conditioner to that wall make a difference?

Easiest solution to find this answer, go knock your friend's door and ask him to borrow his so called good power cord and plug-in your 1000$ amp. I don't think you need any other explaination after trying that. About the overweighted cables, if you know better amps than my current grace m902 in terms of hi-fi reference that doesn't color the original sound from source, let me know and i'll go find it. Grace m902 is the best I've known so far for now (I'm not tubed color who like to see different from source after amping)

Dynamight/Beta22/Dynafet (Can even get them balanced) for about the same price as a grace m902 retails for. No dac though.
