How much difference will a $300 DAC make vs. my Entech 203.2?

After reading countless "Source Matters" posts, it seems like my DAC is next on the upgrade list.

I wouldn't want a DIY, I don't have the time or the tools for it.

Any advise on whether to upgrade, or what to upgrade to would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Wyatt

The Entech is not a bad unit. It is however no match for the TC-7510, which is only U$200. That leaves you with a good U$100 to spend on other bits and pieces. Anything above the TC-7510 would have to be a modded Zhaolu or a Stella or Benchmark.

I went from the Entech to a DAC-AH Modified, and I think it's a worthwhile upgrade. If you're wondering if it's subtle or dramatic, I'd say it's pretty dramatic. The dynamics and the removal of filters all contribute to more realisim.

Let me add a caveat: One thing I like about the Entech is its comparative freedom from reliance upon a transport. Both my Non-Oversampling DACs are transport-dependent. But, once you hear them with a good source, they are undeniably different, better I think.
