I was curious how long the battery in the X3 lasts with newest firmware 3.0
I've grabbed a CD to wav, cut it exactly to 1:00:00 and then converted in Foobar2000 to mp3 (320k CBR lame), FLAC (level 5), upsampled to 24/96 and converted to FLAC (level 5).
Created three folders (mp3, 16-441, 24-96) and copied the files repeatedly with ascending numbers in the filename (Track01 ... Track20) to the corresponding folder to have enough continuous playing time.
Fiio X3, FW 3.0, low gain, gapless on, volume 60, memory play position, bass, treble 0, Sennheiser CX-300 connected, battery has around 20 charge/discharge cycles, no fiddling around with the player during the test, screen was only on on the start of the test.

What playing time are you getting with your X3 (with what settings)?

I did another test, this time using only the X3 coax out to an external DAC.

I was expecting it lasts longer, but twice as long, that was a nice surprise.

Interesting find, mine is about 10 hours playing ALAC 16/44 and 320k mp3 files using line out paired to the E12
