To me it is better to wait in For Sale section for a Xin AMP. Eventually, you can get one quicker than order from Xin website (possibly cheaper)

true or, as myself and others have done, place your order with xin for the amp you want, pay by credit card, so that he doesnt charge you till it ships

then simply turn to some other amp as a filler till it arrives. the time goes by quite quick when you do that

It never used to take this long for him to deliver.......or the serious silences. I can only conjecture that he is under contract for a different kind of project which has been precluding him from doing what he loves - his amp business. You have to remember he has been a Rocket Scientist, and also published in the area of Robotics - look at his list of publications! I had one email where he briefly expressed his chagrin at not being as active with the amps as he would like to have been this year. What I do know is that, historically, his amps have been worth any wait.................and yes, I have two and am also on the list for a Reference.

I'm like Bushguy: have in my hot little hands anolder SM III V6 which i dearly love, and one SM IV LE which he's had for almost 4 months for upgrades. I'd suggest you go to that HUGE Xin thread--now I believe some 212 pages now--and skim some parts of that to get a flavor for how long the wait is becoming. Used to be 90 days. Now, who knows?? 90 years???

Expect to receive it in one year and be happy if it arrives sooner. They're pretty good but the waiting period is all over the board and the communication is practically nonexistent. Love those little buggers though. Try to find one in the used market and you'll potentially save yourself a lot of frustration.

I say 'potentially' because sometimes they do arrive quickly and thus the frustration part of the equation is not guaranteed, but is more likely than not in my estimation based on what I've experienced myself and have seen in the Xin threads that I've read. Although, to be fair, Xin is not alone in this aspect so you do need to grant him some allowance given that he's pretty consistent with what appears to now be the industry standard. Sad, but true for the most part.

If you want to get something in lightning speed, go with Ray Samuels. I think he may have some of my elves working for him! A lot of them left me last year after a prolonged labor dispute...

That is funny! I also second that Ray is a tough act to follow. Very well made amps that sound supert (The SR71 is one of my favorites).

The exact time Xin sends out his amp orders is anywhere from 6 months to two years approximately on average,if he even has an average maybe, but thats an exact approximation of exactly when he will send it i think, maybe.
Hes very consistant with when he delivers. Everyone gets it at the same time......"Whenever".

But i have to say this..... he does deliver.
And people like is amps.
Its just pathetic that you never know when youll get it and you have to wait so long.

Yeah, I love his products. It's better than Christmas. When you finally get the USPS click n' ship. That says-"I have a package to ship to you". Makes your toes curl.

The comment above re 6 months - 2 years is not right. Dr. Xin has only gotten into that territory this year - not before. Whatever the reason no-one knows. He always did much, much better thru 2006 - who knows why this sudden debacle? I DO know (via an email) he is very unhappy about whatever has been transpiring. I am getting as frustrated just as much as others here.......but I DO have have both Supermacro, and Supermini IV's........and an outstanding order for a Reference. But, yes, at this juncture, I'm anxious to get my Reference, and Supermini updates.
