It uses full discrete design, class AB circuitry.
Can be had for under USD35 fully assembled.
Any comments of the design and components used?

Hey,

Looks good, but we can't comment without see the schematics. But I think you must have a current mirror with a current sink and those two big transistors are the complementary pair. Standard but very solid setup, if you ask me. Very neat.

Ciao,

T

P.S. Why are you hiding the coding on your board (top pic leftside)??

its nice, but 15v input is pretty steep for a pocket amp... whats the current draw?

no way.

14 rechargable "aa" batteries and a regulator would easily fit in a "daughtercase"to suply that.

i am curious why the design dosnt use a larger heatsink. i am personally a fan of bolting junk to the walls of cases, and the ever popular "sheet" of aluminum below the mainboard...

edit, im also curious why a portable dosnt use the switched variant of that pot.

The price is really low, but the shipping will cost at least another USD20.
If you want, I can arrange it for you.

According to the creator, 12v is enough actually.
But the amp can take anywhere between 10v to 24v.

they might want to consider a product name change for the U.s. Market

damn fine looking amp though.Discrete means you can play with the biasing or even do parts subs to make this puppy whatever it is you want it to be from a stone cold battery killer to ultralight power to go
