Hi all, been a member hear for a few years but more a lurker than poster... That may change.
I've been using Sony xperia phones (currently the model X) for mobile music. Mobile being something usable both on foot / bike and in the car. I dug out my old 6th gen ipod and realized it is a damn site more convenient to hook up to my car stereo (USB) and navigate directly.
So in the last 10 years since buying my ipod, how have things moved on? I'm seeing FLAC as the dominant format and lots of high bitrate players. But considering my music collection is all FLAC and Apple lossless from Redbook CDs, what does something like a fiio x5 get me over my old ipod with a half decent headphone amp hanging off it?
