The MT220 used to be my favorite closed-back. I even had three pairs total. But after directly comparing to my $20 semi-open Koss KTXPRO1 (which I still have three pairs of, though I never use them, since I use speakers nowadays), I think the KTX is superior in just about every way...which is crazy considering that it costs next to nothing. I also had pricier closed-backs after the MT220. I do think the Audeze SINE, Fostex TH900, and beyerdynamic T 5 p (2nd Generation) are better overall than the MT220. But the sound signatures are so different that you'd just have to hear them for yourself to decide which you like best, and you may very well prefer the MT220. I also think that the better open-backs perform at a much higher level. If you don't need closed-back, I'd recommend a good open-back from the likes of STAX, Sennheiser, Focal, HIFIMAN, Audeze, etc.
