Hi everybody,

Recently I went away and took a first step towards great soundquality with headphones. I already had a pair of Grado Sr-80 but wanted more out of my files on the computer. So, I now rip all of my cd:S into Aiff in Itunes and listening to my new Musical Fidelity V-Dac put together with my new Heed Canamp amplifier. The last step now should be new headphones of course and my dealer has the Grado S325i, Akg K701 and Sennheiser HD 650 for demo. I was wondering though, if my setup also could match even better headphones like Grado RS-1 or Rs-2 or maybe even the GS1000? Or is my setup to simple for those babies?

Would be great to hear your opinions!

Thanks,

Your headphones are going to have the largest impact on your overall listening experience. Matching headphone and amp is where things get tricky. The trick is to get the best from both components.

Your existing system will probably do well with just about any headphone. Grado's do well with SS amplification, so I don't see any reason why you would not be happy with a higher end Grado.

Sounds like you've got a nice setup. Well done, and I know it's a cliche but: sorry about your wallet

Hi,

Thanks for your response and yes, like the ordinary audiofile world (I am, or was, pretty much into Linn) the amount of money to reach for the shining gold feels in your wallet...*s*
So, I am looking forward to the next big step though...Should be great!
