I was about to buy some K545's but I saw the K553. The 553 is $80 less brand new than the K545 is brand new and I thought it might be nice to save some money. I heard the K553 was more balanced than the K545, is that true? I don't really care that much if it more balanced because I can probably fix that with an EQ. The modular cable on the K545 doesn't matter much for me either because the K553 is easily modded to detachable cable. Other than that is the K545 any better or worse than the 553?

I tried the k550 just speaking on comfort it's atrocious but if you have small ears it probably wont be an issue for you.

I have big ears and head too and found it to be one of the most comfortable headphones I ever wore.

Yeah...so far this has kept me from pulling the trigger on the K553. Auditioned the K550 extensively a while back and it was kinda loose for me; seemed to not really stay put and I couldn't get a consistent seal.

Out of curiosity, what did you end up getting? The K545 or the K553? And your experiences with either or both? 
 
I owned the K550 some 15 mos ago, but now I've owned the K553 ($170) for about 3-4 months now. After trying out MANY other headphones, they have proven to be the best for me, even over the $399 Oppo PM-3. 
 
I just ordered the Master & Dynamic MH40.....they will arrive tomorrow. I've read very good things about them. I just don't know if they will have the soundstage the K553 does, or even really close? I'm kinda crossing my fingers here, but I don't have high expectations that they will outdo my K553. We'll see. lol 
 
I've disregarded the K545 in the past, but I'm trying to maybe give it a second chance now. What turned me off is people saying it wasn't comfortable and was too bassy, but I'm reading some people say it's neither. I wonder if it too has the same soundstage as the K550 and K553? Some say no, but some say it comes very close. Anyway, just wondering what happened on your end.
