How do you disable uploading when using WINMX?

you cannot disable, but you can:
1. in the options, limit the number of uploaders to the minimum, 1.
2. limit the bitrate to the minium allowed for uploading
3. only keep safe, small files in your shared file folder: funny gifs, legal music, small pics, etc.
4. after you download something large move it out of the shared folder.
