I was just looking at all the cool portable pix, but it's not clear how people implement some of these. A Rio Carbon just goes in your pocket, or purse (yeah, right;-). But what about some of these amps?

Because I use the Carbon along with a TAH, I just put velcro on the back of the Carbon and the front of the Airhead. After they're attached, I glued a pivot for a cell phone case on the back of the Airhead and wear it clipped to my belt, or to the shoulder-strap of my backpack when I'm commuting via bicycle to work. Phones are usually ER 4s, but sometimes I like a change and bring my SR 60s, which have a shortened cord to prevent mishaps en route.

Occasionally when I don't feel like carrying the TAH I just combine the Carbon with my E2cs or SR 60s, but it's an older Carbon with that stupid metal jack problem, and I usually forget to re-tape the headphone jack.

I have one of their bags, the one that clips on a belt. I got it with an Airhead & ER4s for $200.00 some months ago.

Pretty good deal.

Can't quite figure out how to use the bag, however

See if you can find it here:

All the bags have a PDF linked on the product page telling you about how to set it up. Usually you shove the amp in the back compartment, the player in the front compartment with controls facing the window, use a short mini-to-mini to hook things up in a neat manner, fiddle your phones plug through the corresponging hole on top if desired & zip the bag closed.

I like the Case Logic portable DVD player bags:

PDVK-2 (Larger)
PDVK-3 (Smaller)

The PDVK-2 can hold:

Sony D-NE10, MZ-N10, ICF-SW7600G, SRS-T88, Sennheiser PX-100, external battery packs and AC adapters for all units, microphone, and a folder for CD/CD-R's.

The PDVK-3 can hold:

Sony MZ-RH10, SRF-M97, Sennheiser PX-100, external battery pack, AC adapter, microphone, and 20+ minidiscs.

I use a WaterField Designs iPod Gear Bag.

http://www.sfbags.com/products/ipodp...dgearpouch.htm

Inside the main compartment there are three pockets. My Pod goes in the left pocket, amp in the center, and IEM's in the right, with the front compartment for spare batteries, eartips and cleaning tool. Even with all that packed, it still slips nicely into the document sleeve of my travel briefcase. Perfect solution for my road warrior life.

I have the iPod Speaker Case which fits nicely in my Gap briefcase and holds quite a bit of portable equipment:

PSP and a few games, spare battery, and memory sticks
Vaio Pocket
Cardas mini cable
SR71
Sensa 2XS in Altoids Sours Tin

Lotsa room to spare! Great customer service and a smooth transaction. Highly recommended.

I use a Timbuk2 messenger bag. Quite spacious, water proof, and you can get custom colors *or ones with a sticker thing* so it looks pretty cool. (Messenger Bags )

When I travel, I almost always have my Rebel with me. I use that camera's bag which has several padded dividers to also haul my portable rig. It's an accessory bag and not the one that originally came with the camera. I can carry the camera, two lenses, my Karma, amp and even my PDA and digital camcorder all in one bag. It's also got pouches and side compartments galore for cables, batteries and chargers.

Just a nice, convenient way to carry things.
