How do they compare? I'm looking for a higher end Grado, and the RS1 is currently the staple cookie cutter answer, and may very well likely be my next can. BUT, after just looking around a bunch I've been considering cans like the HF-1 and HHF-1.

How do the HF1s compare to the more recent RS1s and RS2s? Also, what do the Headphile mods do to the HF1?

I have some time, as my time frame for purchase is two weeks, and I would like to see what the other non-typical Grado's have to offer.

The short answer....HF-1's/HHF-1's compare well to RS-1's and 2's except that they have less detail and instrument separation. I had all of the above available to me for some time and initially chose the HHF-1's...but over time realized that the RS-1's are the better can to my ears. Ironically, they cost the same as HHF-1's if bought used and are easier to resale later.
