I ask this question because I'm looking to buy other headphones in the near future and wondering if i should buy the HD 598 or another pair of headphones. I'm looking for headphones under $200. To help with the headphone suggestions  I listen to rap like Kendrick Lamar, Lupe fiasco, Jay Electronica Drake, Kanye West, logic, earl sweatshirt, kid cudi, J.cole, and Joey Bada$$. I also listen to radiohead, MGMT, Coldplay, Gorillaz, vampire weekend, pink floyd, michael jackson, flobots, bob marley, N.E.R.D., sonic youth, the clash, the strokes, bob dylan, oasis, beatles, and Marvin gaye

If you like rock, R&B, and rap, the HD 598's might not be punchy enough for you. The HD 598's are famous for being neutral and colorless for their price-point, which a lot of people value for accuracy. If you want something with a but more punch, you might want to look at some on-ear Grados.

The ATH-M50X will have a louder bass, otherwise the HD598 will be better in all other ways.
HD558 uses the same 50-Ohm driver as the HD598, so the HD558 will be almost as good as the HD598, but at a fairly cheaper price.

Audio Technica ATH-AD900X open headphones, $168.30

This.

Although for your music preferences I would upgrade to something with more bass therefore your best bet would be staying closed back without spending an insane amount of money on planars.

What different headphones would you recommend

Sorry off the top of my head I'm not too certain...

However, if you would like my 2 cents I could recommend you the T51p for a fast detailed sound with a good low end punch or the Focal Spirit One S for a slightly slower more low-end emphasized sound.
