I just clean the tips with a piece of non-fluffing cloth after I'm done listening. Wipe the housings from time to time as well with anti-bacterial wipes.
More than anything you just need to keep your ears clean so the gunk doesn't clog the tip canals.
I do same as Poganin, except I use anti-bacterial wipes for tips too when needed. My ears don’t produce much wax so gunk is not a problem for me. Cleaning might be different for volumous wax producers.
Turn your jeans inside out. Place iems in pocket and wash with regular Tide using the gentle cycle of your washer. Low heat in dryer on delicate mode.
Just kidding.
I remove tips and soak in straight hydrogen peroxide. Shake vigorously for a few seconds and just let sit for 20 minutes or so. Carefully pour out solution and tips into your hand then rinse tips in warm water. Remove and let dry on flat paper towel. To clean the housings, I use 70% alcohol moistened q-tip, carefully wiping down the housing to remove any traces of sweat. I also use a tissue with alcohol to wipe down the wires that wrap above the ear.
