I want to try some different cables on my hd 600.
I have read some weeks/months ago, but i don't know where... :-)
After removing the earpads i can't see where the plug goes in..
What i have to remove too and how ?
Maybe i hardwire something, if it is possible.
Have someone do that too ?

Just follow the wires as they go into the headset. There's a plug at the end just hidden by the casing. Pull gently on the stiff plastic around the wire and it should come right out

it's a good idea.
A already done this... :-)
In that way i have no possibility to solder wire anywhere.
Of course, i can't solder on plastic...
I have to remove something too.
I don't know what and how in best way.
I want be carefully because i don't want to destroy my hd 600.

I'm not really sure what you're saying but... Its really easy to get the cord off. Like stated above, follow the cord to the bottom of the headphones. Pull on the end of cord where it meets the headphone. You do not have the take the ear pads out to do this. They may be a little stiff at first but they will come out.

I think he wants to use a custom cable, not one with the connectors used on the stock HD600 cable, Clou, Cardas, or Equinox.

mwach, I wouldn't recommend trying what you want to do. You run a high risk of destroying the HD600s for a task that if done perfectly will only provide marginal benefits.

if you still want to make your own cable, I suggest you cut off the connectors off the stock HD600 cable, or purchase a replacement HD600 cable for about $25 from Headroom.

Ok, now i have build a cable.

I took normal shielded CAT5 network-cable. (the stiff version, it can't assemble with plugs)
I took two pairs for ground and one pair per channel and soldered on neutrik 6.3mm phone-plug.
The ends of each pairs i have soldered.
I took so much solder, that these ends are approx. so thick as the pins on the plugs of the HD 600-cable.
Now i can can plug the ends in my hd 600.
OK, it is only a test. They sit not very good and i must my head move very slow.
And the contact is not good too, i think.
But, the sound difference is there !
Opener than the stock cable. The bass is more control.
Now i am looking for a good way to connect the cable.
If i remove the ear-pad i can't see where the plug is going in.
What i have to to ?

It's sounds like you're doing a damn fine job of completely cocking the phones up. The ear cups, an everything else on the HD600's, are a snap lock fit and it is easy to strip them down to the bare bones.

Use your finger nail at the plastic to plastic abutments and gently prise the phones apart. It's pretty self explanatory just by looking at the phones but very hard to explain here.

Basically you need to prise everything apart and you will do no damage to the headphones. Once you have them in say 3 pieces you can begin work on connecting the cables.

Pinkie.

If you can wait a few hours I will prise mine apart and take photos which will explain things better.

Please post the photos in this thread. I would like to see the HD600 taken apart, all and sundry all over the workroom table. This might give me some idea of how to get some damping in there or construct a wooden frame for the drivers to control resonance.

ok, i figured out, how i can open the senn hd 600.
i am confused !
A lot discussions about cardas here and equinox there.
I saw the "cable" that is going from the plugs to the drivers.
It have the size of a hair !
OK, for this moment i ended my experience in cable improvement.
I testet a little with cat5 network-cable.
It sounds a little stronger in bass and in highs, but the stock-cable sounds more musical and therefore a lot better.
A dealer here in germany have ordered the cardas cable for sennheiser by the distributor for germany.
I have spoken with the distributor for germany and it seems that is the first cardas HD 600 cable that is ever sends to a german dealer...
I think it will arrive next week and i can test it.
I am very intend how it sounds.
I will report.
