I had been running media monkey to my ipod, but I got an iTransport for Christmas and now want to go higher res on my pod. I converted my flacs to apple lossless using dbpoweramp, installed iTunes and synched everything up. iTunes decided that most of my album art did not exist, retagged some stuff and made a bit of a mess of my iPod, but I digress.

I still have a fair amount of oggs left over from my iRiver/allOfMp3 days. I used MediaMonkey to load them on to my iPod, MM can transcode on the fly. It also retains my album art without question.

The problem is that I have MM on one machine and iTunes on another. I would like to move the music from my pod to itunes because I know iTunes is itching to delete it if I think about synching because it does not know where it came from.

Can anyone suggest a (freeware) utility that can help me out?

I'm a pc.

I just tried to sync a couple podcasts and my whole pod went schizo. I restored the person, iTunes won't sync, cleared library, repointed it, now it is copying something, but I think it is just wiping my drive. Maybe it will sync when it is done deleting all my music.

You can get a plugin for winamp to pull music off your ipod.

Use Sharepod. Free, simple, and gets the job done. Moves music both ways, does tags too.

Yes, you sure can!
Either by accessing the folder structure in Finder/Explorer, or using a 3rd. party application. iTunes don't allow you to.
