They came with the NWZ-E463 player, i don't have experience with hifi headphones, but i find these fairly good. How are they really? Can i find better headphones in the 40-50 bucks range? Thanks in advance

Sure you can find better things... you have just to follow your listening preferences...
IMO they are too bass-mid centered with the higs slightly laid-back and with short extension. The bass its ofthen confused and highs not too detailed, but overall it's an honest iem, since is the default one.
If you like the bass emphasis the sennh cx 300 II could be an alternative.
Look for the sennh cx 300 II competitors to have your personal opinion...
I'm using the same player, and now I have the philips fidelio s1, after 1 year of cx300 improving detail, scene and highs details and extension.
