Why? You've already lost frequencies by going to mp3. Bad writing... or marketing. Interesting gadget though. You should read the specs. Life for the cutter is around 200-300 minutes.

I think most DJ's now-a-days don't even use vinyl if they want to play a digital sound format... the "fake" turntables are becoming quite popular, are they not?

Sorry, I don't see the market this device would fit in.

not with real DJ's. you can only scratch with real vinyl, anything else is an approximation.

I'll agree that it's no longer of much use to anyone, especially considering the freq. butchering, but the guy commenting (on engadget) saying that he was holding out for blu-needle got a laugh out of me.
