hey guys. i've got a bithead right now and feel like an upgrade is in order. I'll be using a NAD 525BEE CDP, and am planning on buying an entry level turntable (maybe a Rega P1) in the near future. I listen to lots and lots of stuff, but have an emphasis on electric and acoustic type stuff - like johan johansson and joanna newsome.

I've been looking at the Woo Audio 6, but after the recent Seattle mini-meet I've become very interested the Phil Larocco's(Triad Audio's) Lisa III. I also really enjoyed an M^3 i tried out, but dont really know anyone who could build one for me.
The Corda Opera has had me a bit tempted - but i really cannot afford it at the moment and wonder if it is really worth the money as i am anxious to get into vinyl(since the opera comes with a pretty good DAC in it).

My pricerange is around the 600$ mark, but I'm open to whatever if it seems worth it. The thing is that i am using two very different phones here - the 650's and the ms2's and have heard of senn's sounding great on some rigs and grados sounding horrible and vice versa.

OK so have at it. (oh and of course if someone knows of an amazing deal bang for the buck kinda thing let me know.)

Thanks

What about trying the Corda Aria which also has a DAC it is just a cheaper version of the Opera... it actually looks almost identical to the opera except it is lesser components and probably slightly lesser quality

Also maybe look at the cantate when it comes out and see how much it is because it will be a bit more than the Aria probably but maybe less than the opera... who knows it might fit in between the Aria and the Opera

Look at the ASL MG Head MKIII. It has the ability to run OTL for use with the Senn's and in transformer mode for the Grado's. Not many amps have this feature.

Stello HP100, then snag the DA100 later down the road. I've heard that the synergy is really good with the HD650s.

OTL is output transformerless. You can read about it here.

I'm also using a NAD C525BEE with a MAD Ear+ Purist HD2. They sound fantastic combined and i would suggest you the HD2 then.
I use my setup with a RS-1 and a K701, but the MAD amps were previously designed for the Senns, so they must sound awesome also ...

I tried the MAD Ear+ HD2, Lehmann Black Cube and the X-Can v3 recently The stock X-can did not quite cut it for me.

MAD and Lehmann are in the same price bracket. Lehmann's synergy with the 650 is undeniable. But since you have the MS2 as well, I'd recommend the HD2 instead. Love the sound. Mine's on the order Q!

I also am interested in this thread as I own a pair of HD650's, and am looking into a new amp. I have narrowed my choises as follows: Mapletree, WooAudio6, and the WooAudio3+. Which of the 3 would all of you recommend to be used soley with the Sennheiser HD650's? Thanks! (I hope no one will mind my request in this thread).
