I just plugged my sr-60 into my setup for the first time since i added a decent source.

I got chills when the music started playing! Chain is as follows:

Sony NS775V SACD/DVD player ---> Go-Vibe 7 Max---> Sr-60

Listening to the and Silent Civilian (Metal)

The guitars have so much crunch, just pure energy coming into my head!

Cant wait to try them with my new Headfive.

Blimey just seen this post, was about to post myself, just picked up a pair of SR-60's today and a Headbox MKII, my god..... I am some what awe struck by how different they sound. (Was using senn HD515's before) All of my music is via the mac using iTunes and wow...

All I can say is thanks head-fi been lurking on your forums for a while and decided to buy a the Grados based on what I have been reading. Thank you!

I do start to wonder now how much more money will I spend if I keep on reading!

Be sure to try them out with a set of bowl pads too.

was thinking about doing that. Maybe some flat pads too? I already have the hd414 pads and they are great. The comfies suck IMO.

I had a similar experience tonight when I plugged my SR-80s (w/flat pads) straight into my Audigy 2 ZS. Had been running through onboard sound at work through a Headroom Total Airhead. Can't wait to hear the Audigy 2 through the Total Airhead (batteries are charging).

Of course, this new revelation is leading me to think that an external DAC is in my future, and my wallet is starting to cry.

welcome to the club.
the sr60 gave me my first jaw dropping listening experience as well, and eventually led to the addition of an rs-2 to the grado family.
still the best bang for the buck headphone on the market, imho.
enjoy.

I could never spend that kind of money on grados. My next purchase will probably be a pair of dx1000 or some darth beyers.

I recall hearing someone else on Head-fi voicing that same sentiment a number of months ago.

Grados (and the Head-fi forums) do strange things to folks. Run while you can!

BTW, worth every penny! IMHO, of course.
