Holo Audio May DAC Speculation

With 2018 around the corner I wanted to start a thread on the upcoming May DAC by Holo Audio. I have condensed a few pieces of information that I have found on this forum into a single post to make it easy to reference and hopefully to gather more to fill in the holes and to offer suggestions to @bimmer100 before the design is locked so that we can get the best DAC possible.

Scavenged information:
Higher tier DAC than Spring DAC
Projected retail price $3-4K
Release date: mid 2018
Remote included
LEDs indicating sampling rate
MQA or Roon compatibility
Trade up discount for those that bought the Spring DAC from Kitsune Hifi

Things I’d like to see:
DSD512 support (like the Spring)
Network bridge for RJ45 Ethernet connection


If anyone else has and info that they have seen put out or things they’d like to see implemented please post below.

AFAIK it’s just a DAC but assuming it does have a remote then maybe it is a DAC/amp
combo? There’s no substantial utility in a remote otherwise.

My vote would be for a DAC only model.

Yeah. With the remote, it might be a DAC/Amp model. Is there any place that I can scavenge for info?

The Spring DAC thread is the only place I know of.

ASR got a pre-release review sample of the Holo Audio May. It measures very well but there is no evaluation of sound quality. Note the separate power supply. Also colour is not standard marking it as a demo sample. Production Mays will be the usual black chassis and copper sides/buttons that are the company colours.

I hope so, it needs to kill the Chord Dave and collect the tears from the Chord bois
