Hello 901'ers. New owner here. Am quite impressed with the 901 so far. Have posted some impressions on the SE846 thread:

has anyone tried this case :

looks a bit bulky. Is anyone using a case which is a bit slimmer ?

Thank you Kiats for your help when I was researching whether to buy the 901.

I ordered one a few days ago to use with my HM-650 with IEM amp card. MyHM-901 stays at home with the balanced amp card. I also would worry about a case over the balanced card - it gets very hot. The 901 with balanced card also gets much less battery life. As a home rig that takes up very little space, it's quite good.

How is that 650 compared to the 901?

I like the buttons better than the wheel on the 901. The build quality seem as good or better than the 901. So far, I'm using different amp cards and phones (balanced on the 901), so I can't comment on the sound differences other than to say that the 650 sounds excellent for it's price. It's a bargain, especially since I already had 4 different amp cards, extra battery and standalone battery charger.

Just wanted to post that HM 901 is awesome with TH900 & LCD XC & this is from the IEM card. On the fence whether I should go for the Mini box or Balanced card for my HP's ? My HP's already have balanced cable, if I go balanced, will have to get a mini TRRS to 4 pin XLR adapter or Mini Box will give same SQ with less hassel ?

How did I miss this thread?

I really enjoy the sound of my Allessandro MS1i-Walnut with the Classic Card, an I really enjoy the combo! It's a very simple set up so that's great for when I'm walking around on Campus or even  trying to get some work done on my Laptop

Now I also have my iBasso PB2 [LME 49990 opAmps Dummy Buffers] that I use with all of my balanced headphones.

I use my balanced cans when I'm away from home but not "on the go" such as if I visiting a friend over the week end or something

Either way I really enjoy my HM 901 :3, and I'm really diggin the sound of the Classic Card! The Classic Card an hm901 are a VERY big step ahead of my HM 801, which is great because the classic Card in the HM801 was terrible <.<

Balanced card is very good on soundstage and details. It adds a bit boost to low-end. Minibox is also very close to balanced card.  It is a bit more neutral than balanced card.
