We have shipped most preorder batch HM-602. HM-602 Preorder will be finished on Monday, Nov 1st. From now on, we will not provide free RE262 IEM with HM602.

It is well known that Non-oversampling dacs offer great sound for little money. HM-602 is the first portable player using non-oversampling DAC: Philips TDA-1543. As younger brother of HM-801,  HM-602 shares HM-801's great sound signature. To make it as portable as possible, HM-602 does not have amplifier modular design. However, its headphone amp part is very similar to HM-801's standard module. To drive both high impedance and low impedance headphones, HM-602 with the high / low Gain switch can drive both high efficiency IEM and most full size headphones.  In addition, HM-602 also can work as a USB DAC.

Impressive. Although I have a few questions. Gappless playback? Expansion Slot? Weight?

  3. Nankai Contributor
Gapless playback is not supported, but the gap between tracks are very small.

    Fang,

Can you post a list of tested and approved SDHC card models (make, storage capacity, classification) that your engineering team recommends for both the HM-602 and HM-801?

Also, what will be included in the retail package?  Leather case option or pouch?

    Thanks!

I saw on hifiman website that the preorder price for hm-602 is RMB2399. http://cn.hifiman.us/products/?pid=90. Can I preorder on that website and pay by paypal? Also can I get hm-801 charger from that website as well since it is RMB149 compared to USD49 on head-direct website. Thanks.

or does the USD369 include shipping cost?

Can you also post a picture of the charger too. Is it the same big charger that came with the hm-801? Also the battery of hm-602 cant be externally change. So what happens if after 1 year the battery starts to degrade. Will we be able to send it back for a battery replacement?

    Is the charger EU compatible?
Is there a way to lock volume?
How long will it be available at preorder price?

    Thanks

Hi Fang, I see it uses the 32 Gb SD cards. Will the software be tweaked to allow larger cards in the future? Also is the battery user replaceable? A case would be a nice addition. Thanks.

Anything >32gb is SDXC, not SDHC.  Different hardware, not software upgradeable.

    Hi Fang,

    24bit files supported?

Check out the last pic in the first post.  It's a single port, so it will be a lot smaller and lighter.  I'm guessing a cheaper universal switching power supply.

What can we expect from the included package if any?
    How heavy is the player?
