Hello guys,

My old computer needs to be replaced as it's 10 years old. I'm now using the famous Plextor Premium 2 to write CDs for my Emm Labs Cd player. Unfortunately, the X99 motherboards only have Sata, while Plextor needs Ide. I'm now facing 2 options :

1) Finding a IDE to SATA converter and continue to use the Plextor but don't know if this will cause any compatibility issues
2) Finding an internal SATA burner or external one that will be reliable and possibly support the AMQ technology (don't know if there is any new CD/DVD drive that follows the quality of the old ones as this field seems to have been forgotten by the producers once the blu-ray drives entered the market)

Any idea ?

Can you just keep the old computer around, for just burning CDs?

Or maybe just buy a newer burner.

Not enough room for both and besides it's useless to block it just for this task as it will fibd better use at my office.

Maybe get an older external USB 5.25 case, with an internal IDE interface?

Yes, I was thinking to use an IDE to SATA adapter but don't know if this will work flawlessly. Don't think there are any new drives on sata to have the quality of the old Plextor !
