I have a case on my iPhone 4 is that has a headphone opening too small for the right-angle 3.5mm on my UE IEMs.  Does anyone make a high quality, short, cable that might help?

Cable quality won't make a difference in sound.  You might as well pay $5 instead of $80.  Previous iphones had this problem even without a case, so there are plenty of options out there.

I purchased a gold-plated cable extension from Radio Shack that fits perfect in a Speck Fitted case.  It has an in line volume adjustment also, didn't really need it but the cable was pretty short and the plug fit so I was happy. Good luck!

I find myself really disagreeing with that since I auditioned a few cables and found differences between them. However, if you truly find cables really don't matter to you, then kudos for you. That's an extra cost saved for more great headphones/earphones instead. I was swearing to myself when I was one of the "unluckier" ones.
