[Desert Eagle]

Ive got a pair of the sennheiser HD 555's and when i connect them to my computer without any sounds playing i can hear this really high pitched squeaking sound. Its really annoying since i can also hear it while im listening to music. What could be causing it? I dont think its anything to do with the volume, since the sound is still there when i put it on mute.

It sounds like something isn't grounded in your case.

I'm not sure how to explain it, but something is interfering with the ground signal and causing interference, hence the sound you hear. At least, that's what I think is happening.

Make sure your motherboard is fully secured with standoffs and that no part of it is touching the case or motherboard tray.
