I want to buy a portable mp3 player with a high output because I use headphones (Senn's HD25-SP) as well as earphones. My old Sony discman is capable of driving both but I'm afraid the mp3 player I end up buying will not have the power.

I once tried an iRiver H-140 but it was slightly lacking in power. According to iRiver its output is:
20mW(R) + 20mW(L) (16ohms) at Max. Volume
11.6mW(R) + 11.6mW(L) (32ohms) at Max. Volume

The recent iRiver h-10 has only 18mW at 16 ohms which I think is very poor

Could anyone advise me on something similar, smallish and portable with better power (say 30mW)?

Rio karma has:
Power per Channel: 55mW/ch @ 16 ohms. 30mW/ch @ 32 ohms
Dynamic Range: A-weight >96dB
Signal/Noise Ratio: A-Weight >95 dB
THD + Noise: <0.01% up to 10kHz, rising to <0.04% at 20kHz
Frequency Response: 20-20khz +-0.3dB
Tests based on MP3 160bit files

I think the ipod is something like 30mw too, but I don't know.

The iPod is listed at "high-output amplifier (60-mW)". I assume it's the same as the Karma (if previous threads memory serves).
