Hifiman QC ain't great bit their CS is. My first set developed a hole in the driver within a week of ownership. Hifiman just replaced the entire thing no questions asked
Interesting... have you photo of this hole eventually?

Here are some pics. The mesh on both sides of the driver was intact so it wasn't a puncture unless it was something microscopic and my new set have had 0 issues being used in the exact same environment for now several months (first set popped in under a week)

Just to be clear. They sorted this out for me with 0 issues and the dealer I bought them from was super helpful as well (said usually they would just swap it for a good set but they didn't have any inventory which is why I went through hifiman directly).

This puncture looks like excessive tension on the membrane surface that torn it apart in that spot eventually, but good to know that the manufacturer handled that issue.

Yah. My guess was that there was a tiny hole/imperfection from manufacturing (that I couldnt see when I first got it) that acted like a stress concentrator and caused the tear. Ultimately though, as annoying as it was for the like 6 days it took to get fixed, it wasnt that big of a deal

@sahmen What are your impressions on the Pathos Inpol Ear driving the Susvara? What are its strengths and weaknesses?

I see that you had a modded Flux FA-10 at one point, which is what I am currently using to drive my Susvara. What are the differences, if you can recall, between the Pathos Inpol Ear vs Flux FA-10?

Thanks!

So I've got a Susvara on the way. Is there anything in my amp stable that will come close to driving them properly? I know the Crack won't be a good match, but I've had success driving my HE6SE v2 from the balanced output of my Liquid Platinum and the balanced output of my Magnius. And I have a Jot 2 on the way in like two months or so.

What of my amps will do the best for now, and how much am I leaving on the table with them?

I do have a Luxman R117 with a HFM speaker tap to XLR adapter I'll try but it's not terribly convenient given my setup.

Thank you, I see very small white points without gold coating (like holes) on booth my diaphragms when looked against strong light, hope that is normal. So far my set works OK after a month of use.

That's a reasonable return time :)

That's just a guess, but if your pair were to break, it would already. Usually such things happen early on.

Take a pic and let support know. See what they say. Better to have written documentation in case something happens down the road. That’s what I would do.

My good set has a couple of those. I think its normal. Unless you are nearing the end of your warranty or something I just wouldn't worry about it tbh

Thank you for checking on your set and confirming that is not only on my unit! :) My set was QC/factory sealed 2.12.2021 according to labels on the box, it is new.
