HiFiMan Susvara

It was t a hum through the headphones. It came from the unit itself.
Ohk. Don't know how wide spread the issue was, or was it batch/production specific. At least my unit doesn't hum.

Anyways, susvara sounds good with them and IMO will be driven to perform to their potential.

Thanks guys,

I own the Headtrip II with the external power and found it awesome powering my aging Focal Utopias and Susvara is on my Christmas Wish List, so it sounds like I have a pleasant journey ahead should Santa drop a pair off for me.

Regards
GG
headtrip 2 with utopia?...wow,overkill to say the least...for suvara yes

Probably was widespread and that’s why the modification. I spoke to Jeff Wells a month or so ago and he mentioned this.

Roksan K3 arrived but neither my Susvaras nor the speaker TAP is here yet.
So could only test M30 to Roksan K3 to Flux FA-10 to Denon AH-D9200 and with this hell of a chain with mixed cables and multi amping I preferred the signature directly out of M30 but that says absolutely nothing of course about the targeted pairing

Is that a 4.4mm to XLR adapter in your Flux-FA10?

I'm getting tempted by the Susvara, but only currently have a RME ADI2 for output. Would adding a Burson Audio Soloist 3XP to the chain result in a satisfying (if upgradable some time later) result with the Susvara? Would a Cayin IHA-6 be better suited? Or is there another not overly expensive option?

The Burson 3xp will be around 2watts 60 ohms into the susvara so will be way better than the RME. The cayin is around 3.5W 60 ohms balanced.

Roksan K3 loudspeaker power amp, around 1200 Eur new.
I will report some time next week once all the gear is with me.
PS: or buy my Flux FA-10 for around 500 Eur which I will sell afterwards if everything goes well 😉

It seems to be 1800€ around here, and also I'm not exactly on point about how to easily connect non-HP amps to the Susvara. I've seen mentions of this in this thread, but it doesn't look straightforward and requires some non-standard parts if I read things right.

The 1800 is for the integrated Version, the cheaper one for the power amp if I am not mistaken.

And yes you need a Speakertap Adapter cable or Interface Box to connect headphones directly to speakeramps

You are from EU aren't you?
You can find dealers who can sell you K3 power amp for less than 1200 Eur plus speaker tap adapter for another 180 incl shipping if you want the very best silver plated copper.
Flux FA-10 is a dedicated headphone amp built for the likes of Susvaras for 750 Eur new plus shipping and import fees (or used on EU market)
Both solutions offer you way more driving power than your before mentioned solutions and are even cheaper.
I will try this way and report.
Next logical way to step up for me would be better speaker amps (I think Marantz were recommended) or finding a used Solaris tube valve amp as an endgame setup.
