Which amp is that in the background? It looks familiar but I could easily be wrong by guessing. Also, I don't think this post is showing off. I think you are in love with the sound and just want others to know. I totally get that. :)
That's a primaluna evo 400 per amp into a kinki M7 stereo power amp.

That's true, but it all depends on a reviewer. Hobbyists can take their time, while people into audio reviewing for a living usually don't have that luxury.

Yea it's definitely not practical at all for the actual professional reviewer scene. Would still be cool to see more head-fiers do it, as it reduces the chance of falling into the "prisoner of the moment" trap.

Superb and comprehensive video review by @Sajid Amit ! I would perhaps opine that the midrange of some estats I've heard (Shangri-la Junior, Stax SR-009S) offer even more insight than the Susvara's, and might be my top recommendation to a "mid-head", although the Susvara has a fantastic midrange in its own right, and is still my favorite all-rounder.

Agree here, and I'm an absolute mid-range fanatic. Although the Susvara's midrange is definitely up there.

On the upside, some pro reviewers tend to be coolheaded and not easily excited even in case of very expensive products. Revieweing stuff that one doesn't have to buy probably changes a lot for folks that do this for a living.

Agree on that point. The only other thing is a lot of times there are other biases at play. Not at all trying to open a can of worms on that front, but it's a big reason I prefer Head-fi impressions to professional review articles. :)

that's the Primaluna Evo 400 preamplifier. lovely unit and I'm extremely satisfied with it! I admit, there'll be some element of showing off and I've done my fair share of that in my posts, but am just glad the other forum members have put up with it all this time! *grin

Yep!

...and one device by Innuos in-between, most likely a linear PSU or USB reclocker

its a Phoenix USB reclocker. usually in my Wavelight setup but wanted to give it a go with the May. it is still one of my favourite audio purchases!

I tend to trust reviews by enthusiasts who own numerous products and can make a comparison not based on rooting interest...a person who owns one HP may well intend to be objective but I find too many people here who buy a product and then feel a need to root for it while denigrating competing products...

That's true, we're only humans after all :)

The word is that it's a great reclocker. I assume it works well for you?

Yes, folks who have at their disposal many products to play with often land more informative feedback and we all like comparisons :)

Yes, USB reclockers as efficient noise cleaners make background darker, bass more firm, instrumental separation better and color range wider. All that makes music more real indeed, so if your Innuos does that for you, it does what it should indeed. Enjoy :L3000:

1) That depends on if your sus uses 2.5mm jacks or the newer 3.5mm jacks. If you post a pic of your stock cable/the port on the cans themselves we can answer that for you.
2) That is the correct jack on the other end
3) Just fair warning, nothing portable runs sus very well. It will make noise but dont expect a fantastic experience. I would pretty highly recommend a cheap XLR -> 4.4 adapter to try the setup for like $15 just to make sure its worth the cable investment to have one made.

Agreed.

They only thing that would fair well portably with the Susvara is the Cayin C9 right now. But you still won’t Get the full benifit of owning the Susvaras. I don’t even think I would take my Susvaras with me. But that’s just me.

This is the 4.4mm to XLR adapter I use with my 4.4mm cable for my Diana V2s. It’s very well made and don’t affect the sound quality from my cable.
