Have you tried the susvara with Esoteric N-05 XD? How does it stack up ?It is especially outstanding as source for Susvara. Yes it could drive Susvara sufficiently, yet without adding master clock and a decent clock cable, the headphone amplifier might be better for IEMs and less power hungry cans like HD800S, only by my insanely picky standards lol
Esoteric Discrete DAC is my favorite source at Chicago Axpona 2021, and after listening to all new high end sources at Capital Audiofest this weekend, I still admire what it does.

Sounds like you'd be able to easily pass blind tests thenAnd also some ears are more refined than others. Some people can be unbelievably tone deaf and cannot distinguish a G# from a C, or nylon vs brass strings, or not able to catch finer nuances.

Now that I've finally got around to purchasing the Susvara, I fully expect an imminent HiFiMan new top of the line release!
This might take a while. Susvara has been around for several years and I imagine that it's not trivial task to improve upon that design in a meaningful (as in: easily audible) way. Besides, given all the feedback and 1200+ pages in this thread, well, I think that Susvara will be relevant 10 years from now, even if one day we'll see it successor.

Just like orginal HE-6 which is still relevant
I didn’t talk about myself though. But it’s true and some people find that difficult to accept, or may take offence 🤷Sounds like you'd be able to easily pass blind tests then![]()

Oh, not when you're favoring the Morpheus which turns strings into wet noodle. 🤣I didn’t talk about myself though. But it’s true and some people find that difficult to accept, or may take offence 🤷
You’ll also be happy to know that I got rid of the 1266TC which is quite an assault.Oh, not when you're favoring the Morpheus which turns strings into wet noodle. 🤣

I think it's clear you have offensive ears. You’ll also be happy to know that I got rid of the 1266TC which is quite an assault.
I love how u just proceeded on the offensive. Go for it and thrive, man.I think it's clear you have offensive ears.
Someone spoke about hearing differences in components to be largely affected by bias.
Someone added it could also be due to differences in amp tuning.
I added that difference may also be due to differences in personal hearing capability. It’s true, noh? And that some ears are more refined than others, yeah? I didn’t talk about anyone in particular but it’s just the truth. You felt slighted, and you went classic paradoxper. DRAMA

Vey clean, clear, transparent with focused vocals and crazy three dimensions. Personally speaking I prefer adding a master clock with silver snake River clock cable driving SUS directly with built in amp.Have you tried the susvara with Esoteric N-05 XD? How does it stack up ?
It is not hard to get SUS loud, but then again SUS really shines over 60 to 100W high quality power in my humble opinion …

I remember the time when HD800 were considered a notorious load here on HF. Some 10+ years later and just look at us now, discussing speaker amps for cans
