After being well received by members of the Head-Fi community, the RE252 has been considered a recommended upgrade to the still great RE0. I have yet to receive mine but I would like to see the questions and opinions of those who own them or are considering them. I hope you all were lucky enough to have brought them during the 48-hour sale. These following links should provide you with all the information on the specifications and performance of the RE252:

Yeah, whats the point of an appreciation thread since you cannot appreciate the RE252s since it seems you don't use them.

Shouldn't someone who uses them & really likes them start such a thread ?

Dont get me wrong, its commendable that you took a lot of effort in posting links to different threads on the subject but the very fact that you do not use these earphones yourself kinda spoils the fact that you have named it an appreciation thread.

What does it matter if the OP hasn't heard them? he's just setting the topic you know.

Regardless, now that the sale is over, I guess the 252 will be back to a more marginal position. The RE0 looking like a better deal and all.

JH13's appreciation thread also started before JH13 being shipped, look at how it grows.

Anyway, I'll like to suggest to those who are of adventure type the foam-less mod (note: potentially warranty voiding!). It is basically the same as my RE1 treble mod. I tried it this morning and find it to be generally positive. RE252 sounds more lively and energetic with the mod.

Discussion thread is probably a better term, and it's been hashed out before. That way, there is room for positive and negative POVs. Oh, and the OP did order them at least. If not, it would have been strange.

It is strange yes. I can attest though (as would many of my friends) that I'm not one to follow rules or conventions completely. I received the tracking number last night so I'll be checking the RE252's location many times over the next few days.

can anyone confirm if the design is actually fully closed?
anthony seems to suggest that is not but clieos says otherwise

I hope the isolation is on par with the re0s.

I received mine today (dang, two days cross-country!) and am quite pleased. I downgraded from the Westone 3 and my impressions pretty much mirror what others have said: They're detailed, quick, and very neutral and have absolutely no sibilance. I've tested on numerous songs where sibilance is definitely part of the recording and sit in anticipation waiting for the ssssssssound but nothing! They're just a tad more detailed and have a soundstage just slightly more compressed than the W3. To make up for their average soundstage, I find the instrument separation to be impeccable and voices are clear of congestion even in busy or complex sections of music. The bass isn't anything a bass head would be after but is pretty detailed, extends to about 35hz, and has just enough presence to be satisfactory to me. I was looking for a detailed and neutral sound, and it is indeed what I got with the RE-252; the sound signature is very akin to the Energy RC-10.

I have not even heard them yet, but I know I will like them just because of the new cable. The old RE2 cable sucks so bad.

I see in your signature that you have the RE0 as well, how do the two compare?
