I have a pair of RE-262 and RE-272 and i want to ask if anyone here had them recabled at Vesper Audio (or somewhere else) and if he saw changes/improvements in the sound ?

And if so , what kind of improvements did you notice?

Checking possible options if/when the cables become too kinky/break up

Any feedback is appreciated.

Ι prefer companies based in Europe, but I am not strict on that matter.

Thank you

If you are in the states, check with Brian at BTG Audio to see if he can recable them as well. He only uses copper and SPC, no sliver, but his build quality is impeccable.

I sent my Re-262 to Vesper audio and got them back.
It took a few months as one of the drivers was dead and needed a replacement donor.

I have to say the did a really good job.

So the answer is yes. Re-262 and 272 can be recabled.

Unfortunately I don't have access to a unmodified set to compare to.

Thanks for posting this follow-up! I'm looking to do the same thing, considering the $85 (if it hasn't changed in the last two years) vs. DIY. Do you still have your '262s? I'd love to see some pics, and to hear how they've held up!
